The Hardcore Energizer Smoothie 

Smoothies can be a great alternative to breakfast. The trouble with smoothies is that we fill them with sugary contents that end up spiking your blood sugar, which lead to an energy crash a while later.

When making a smoothie think of it as a meal. You want to have a combination of carbs containing fiber, protein and fat all present in your smoothie to make it a nutritious, blood sugar balancing drink. One benefit to having a smoothie over juicing is you retain all the fiber which is necessary to balance blood sugar, and have energy longer.

This hardcore energizing smoothie is the prefect combination of all three macro-nutrients, and contains about 13 grams of fiber; this will be sure to energize you and keep you full until your next meal.

  • 1/4 cup of non dairy milk
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 1/2 Apple
  • 1 tbsp of flax seed
  • 1 tbsp of chia seed
  • 1 tbsp of hemp seed
  • 2 tsp of spirulina
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 inch piece of Ginger
  • 4 ice cubes
  1. In a blender, grind up the ginger, flax seed, chia seeds, and hemp hearts
  2. Add the remaining ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth.
